History of Glass Balcony:

Even though balcony closures have been implemented since many years with the use of PVC in our country, due to the loss of view to the outside through the balcony and because they did not permit full opening and closing as desired in addition to the visual pollution these balconies caused on the external façade, this structural extension was designed as an alternative that enabled transparency, easily opening and closing as desired for the purpose of utilizing the balcony throughout all the 4 seasons. By enabling the use of otherwise unexploited balconies this has caused a balcony culture to flourish.

It has been started to be applied in Ankara for the first time in Turkey in 1999. The first glass balconies built in Ankara are bottom supported glass balcony systems known as the ball bearing system. with these systems as the result of all the load bearing on the bases and the rusting of the balls with the deformation caused to the systems the system would be jammed and became incapable of moving.

To prevent the deformations formed on the systems, later roll bearing systems with bottom or top supports started to be produced and used.

In addition to companies using bottom and top supported roller bearing systems on the market, there are also companies that use and emphasize the quality of the latest developed system in which the top 4 roller bearings function when installed from the top and the bottom 4 bearings function when installed from the bottom.
